There's a 40-Foot Doll in Bengaluru. And She's Got Quite a Story to Tell!

A giant doll that moves, toys that take you back to childhood, shopping that could win you gold, and food worth cancelling your dinner plans for. Something big is happening at Forum South Bengaluru!

Remember those little wooden toys you couldn't stop playing with as a kid? The ones that nodded their heads, rolled across the floor or somehow kept you entertained for hours?

Well, imagine one of them growing to 40 feet tall.

Sounds crazy? You might want to see this for yourself.

Everyone, Meet Laxmi. She's Kind of a Big Deal.

This year, Forum South BLR Fest 2026: The Indian Toy Tale is bringing a little piece of everyone's childhood back, only on a MUCH bigger scale. And leading the celebrations is Laxmi, a 40-foot Indian wooden doll standing tall at Forum South Bengaluru. But here's the fun part: she moves! Her head and torso gently bobble, making it a kinetic installation!

And here's something that'll make you look at her twice. Laxmi is India's largest toy! It took over 7,000 man-hours and more than 25 skilled artisans to bring her to life. That's a whole lot of hard work, craftsmanship and love poured into one giant doll!

She's big, she's beautiful, and she's probably going to take up your entire camera frame.

But Laxmi isn't the only one with a story.

This year's fest takes you on a journey through India's incredible toy-making traditions. From Karnataka's colourful Channapatna toys to Tamil Nadu's famous Thanjavur dolls and Kerala's Tholpavakoothu puppetry, there's a whole world of Indian toys waiting to be discovered.

Who knew a trip to the mall could feel like a trip down memory lane?
