Alzheimer’s is the 5th leading cause of death in people over 55 years old, and in India, more than 4 million people suffer from some form of dementia. Despite this, there’s a stigma attached to mental illness amongst us. The Purple Run, is an initiative by FORUM to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s and mental illness among the young for the elderly.

The Purple Run event will be held across 5 Forum Malls in 4 cities::

  • Race Categories: 3 km, 5 km, 10 km & 21 km.
  • Registration fees: 3 km, 5 km, 10 km & 21 km  –  INR 500/- (all inclusive)
  • Timing Chip is an additional cost of INR 150/- (all inclusive)
  • For children below 12 years and adults above 55 years, registration is free of cost.
  • For 21 km the minimum age to participate is 18 years and for 10 km, 5 km & 3 km run all minors must be accompanied by adults.
  • To compete for the first 3 places in all the 4 categories, you will need a Timing Chip. Ranks and prizes will only be given to those with a Timing Chip.
  • Last date for entry for each category is 21st September, Thursday, 9 pm or as soon as running places are filled, whichever is earlier.
  • The registration fee will cover:
    • BIBs without Timing Chips
    • T-shirt
    • Medals to honor your efforts
  1. All duly filled application forms must be submitted ONLY to The Purple Run Representatives in name of the mall.
  2. Registrations will be accepted only with submission of original forms. Copies of the application form will not considered for registration.
  3. Only one applicant can apply for The Purple Run using a single form.
  4. Do not register for more than one race category. An applicant can apply only for one race in the Event. An application form received with two options chosen will be rejected. Multiple applications from a single participant will entail in rejection.
  5. Please thoroughly go through all relevant information and FAQs before filling in the application form. Before sending in your application, please check if you
    • Have enclosed or paid the requisite application fees.
    • Have read through and accepted the ‘Terms & Conditions’ and ‘Event Rules & Guidelines’ in the application form or on this page

    Where any discrepancy is found in any of the above mentioned mandatory requirements, your application will not be accepted. Requests for cancellation and thereby, refund will not be entertained. Further, application fees shall not be refunded by virtue of non-participation, including failure by a confirmed participant to collect her BIB.

  6. Application Confirmation:
    Participant will receive the confirmation email to their registered Email ID for online and on ground, you will receive a registration acknowledgement (coupon). If you are unable to receive the confirmation, please contact The Purple Run team members.
  7. Running number BIB collection:
    • It is mandatory for the participant to collect his/her running number personally from the The Purple Run (Forum Mall) venue. In case of unavoidable circumstances, he/she can send a representative along with the copy of e-mail confirmation or coupon to collect running number on his/her behalf.
    • All confirmed participants/their authorized representatives are required to come to the venue in respective cities on 22nd and 23rd of September 2017 between 10 am to 9 pm in order to collect their running number BIBs. No running BIB will be posted to an individual’s mailing address nor distributed on race day, i.e. 24th Sept 2017.
    • Participant/Authorized representative must carry with him/her (a) the email confirmation sent by Registration Team (b) photocopy of photo-identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN card or Passport) of the representatives and the confirmed participant.
  8. The city police department reserves the right to cancel permission for the event at any time. In such a situation, or in case the event date or location is changed due to political rallies, natural disaster, force majeure or any other event outside the control of organizers, the organizers will hold the event at the next available and convenient date. In such a case there will be no refund of registration fees.
  9. No participants will be allowed inside the holding area without their running BIB pinned on front of their T Shirt.Every runner must wear his/her running number BIB on the front of the vest. Any mutilation, fold, alteration or damage to the BIB will amount to disqualification of the runner from the Event.
  10. Organizers reserve the right to stop any participant who is found medically unfit to continue in the opinion of the official medical personnel. Organizers are not responsible for any loss of baggage and belongings.
  11. Participants without timing chip will not be able to compete for prize money in any of the run categories.
  12. Winners will be decided as per the net time and not gun time.
  13. Organizers’ decision regarding winners’ positions are final.
  14. Participants are requested to cooperate with the police and security personnel deputed at the event venues and on route. Participants/supporters are liable to random checking on race day this is for your own security.
  15. Rights of admission is reserved.
  16. Your entry can be rejected on any of the grounds listed below.
    • Incomplete form submitted.
    • Waiver not signed.
    • Mutilated form/currency notes submitted.
    • More than one application received from the same applicant.
    • Short receipt or non-receipt of entry fee.
    • Running places are full.
    • Any other relevant reason deemed by the management.

I declare, confirm and agree as follows that I/my ward

  1. Have given true and complete information in this application form and me/my ward is/am solely responsible for the accuracy of this information;
  2. Have fully understood the risk and responsibility of participating in ‘The Purple Run’ or any event outlined in this application and will be participating entirely at my/his/her risk and responsibility;
  3. Understand the risk of participating on a course with vehicular traffic, even if the course may be regulated/policed;
  4. Understand that l/my ward must be of, and must train to, an appropriate level of fitness to participate in such a physically demanding event and l/my ward have obtained a medical clearance from a registered medical practitioner, allowing me to participate in the event/s;
  5. For myself/ourselves and our legal representatives, waive all claims of whatsoever nature against any and all Sponsors of the event, respective City, all political entities, authorities and officials, all contractors and construction firms working on or near the course, all ‘The Purple Run’ Committee persons, officials and volunteers, and all other persons and entities associated with the event and the directors, employees, agents and representatives of all or any of the aforementioned including, but not limited to, any claims that might result from me/my ward participating in the event and whether on account of illness, injury, death or otherwise;
  6. Agree that if I am/my ward is injured or taken ill or otherwise suffer/s any detriment whatsoever, I hereby irrevocably authorize the event officials and organizers to, at my/our risk and cost, transport me/my ward to a medical facility and/or to administer emergency medical treatment and l/my ward waive/s all claims that might result from such transport and/or treatment or delay or deficiency therein. I shall pay or reimburse to you my/my ward’s medical and emergency expenses and l/my ward hereby authorize/s you to incur the same;
  7. Shall provide to race officials such medical data relating to me/my ward as they may request. I agree that nothing herein shall oblige the event officials or organizers or any other person to incur any expense or to provide any transport or treatment;
  8. In case of any illness or injury caused to me or my ward or death suffered by me or my ward due to any force majeure event including but not limited to fire, riots or other civil disturbances, earthquakes, storms, typhoons or any terrorist act, none of the sponsors of the event or any political entity or authorities and officials or any contractor or construction firms working on or near the course, or any of the The Purple Run officials or volunteers or any persons or entities associated with the event or the directors, employees, agents or representatives of all or any of the aforementioned shall be held liable by me/my ward or my/my ward’s representatives;
  9. In case of any illness or injury caused to me or my ward or death suffered by me or my ward due to any force majeure event including but not limited to fire, riots or other civil disturbances, earthquakes, storms, typhoons or any terrorist act, none of the sponsors of the event or any political entity or authorities and officials or any contractor or construction firms working on or near the course, or any of the The Purple Run officials or volunteers or any persons or entities associated with the event or the directors, employees, agents or representatives of all or any of the aforementioned shall be held liable by me/my ward or my/my ward’s representatives;
  10. Understand, agree and irrevocably permit respective Forum Mall to share the information given by me/my ward in this application, with all/any entities associated with the respective mall, at its own discretion;
  11. Understand, agree and irrevocably permit the respective Forum Mall to use my/my ward’s photograph which may be photographed on Race Day and/or during the Expo, for the purpose of promoting The Purple Run, at its own discretion;
  12. Shall not hold the organizers and all/any of the event sponsors responsible for loss of my/his/her application form and/or application fee in transit;
  13. I/my ward do agree to receive information and offers of various brands/products/services as may be sent to me/my ward by the event promoters (or a person duly authorized by the promoters) on the email address given by me/my ward in this application form;
  14. I/my ward understand and agree to the event terms and guidelines.
  15. Organisers of the event shall in no event be responsible for any kind of loss or damage occurred to my belongings. I am solely responsible for the security of my / my warden’s belongings.
  16. By signing this form, I consent to the terms and conditions hereof and undertake to indemnify the respective Forum Mall against any loss/ damage/ claim/ liability arising out of any act , omission, negligence, default, failure committed by me / my warden to adhere to the terms hereof.
  17. Exclusive jurisdiction of the Competent Courts at the city in which ‘The Purple Run’ event takes place shall be applicable for any dispute that may arise hereunder.

  5. How can I apply for the event?
    • Online – Participants can register here on this page.
    • Offline – Participants can fill the physical application form in the respective malls and can submit it to the official representatives of The Purple Run listed on our website along with the requisite registration fees.
  6. What are the various modes of entry fee payment?
    • Online: Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking
    • On ground Registrations (at respective malls) : Cash/Credit Card/Debit Card
  7. What is the last date of registration?
    We may close the registrations early if all our slots are filled. We request you to register early and not wait till the end. We will announce the dates on our Website, Facebook page and other Social media.
  8. Can I register on race day of the event?
    No. Requests for registration will not be entertained post closure of registration dates.
  9. What is the minimum age eligibility for each race category?
    For 21 km the minimum age to participate is 18 years and for 3 km, 5 km & 10 km run all minors must be accompanied by adults.
  10. How will my entry acceptance be intimated to me?
    Every participant will receive participation confirmation via an e-mail for online bookings and on ground you will receive a registration acknowledgement.
  11. Can I register for more than one race?
    No. An applicant can apply only for one race in the Event. An application form received with two options chosen, will be rejected. Multiple applications from a single participant will entail in rejection.
  12. Can I transfer/cancel my registration? Will there be any refund?
    Sorry, no cancellations are possible and registration fees are non-refundable.
  13. Can I run with somebody else’s running BIB on race day?
    No. All participants’ race day images will be screened visually after the race and if any of the participant is found not wearing the running number BIB allotted to him/her, the participant registered for that BIB will be disqualified from the race
  14. Can I fill a single application form on behalf of all the members of the group participating in the event?
    No, each member/ runner needs to fill individual application form with all the mandatory fields duly filled and necessary documents attached.
  15. On what grounds can my entry be rejected or declared invalid?
    Your entry can be rejected on any of the grounds listed below:
  • Incomplete form submitted.
  • Waiver not signed.
  • Mutilated form/cheque/demand draft/currency notes submitted.
  • More than one application received from the same applicant.
  • Short receipt or non-receipt of entry fee.
  • Cheque or demand draft submitted not cleared by the Bank.
  • Running places are full.
  • Any other relevant reason deemed by the management.
  • Once applied can I cancel my entry and get refund?
    Once you have applied, request for cancellation and refund will not be entertained.
  • Can you post me my Running Number BIB?
    No. All participants must come to the Forum The Purple Run venue (respective malls) to collect their BIBs.
  • Do I need a timing chip to be eligible for competition?
    Yes. To compete for the first 3 places in all the 4 categories, you will need a Timing Chip. Ranks will be given to those with Timing Chip only.
  • Will I be ranked without a timing chip?
    No. Your official time & rank will be available to you only if you purchase a timing chip which entails an additional cost of INR 150.
  • Can I change race categories once I have registered?
    For change in race category, you can visit www.forummalls.in/thepurplerun to contact ‘The Purple Run’ team members of the respective malls.
  • Why is it that I have not received my confirmation e-mail despite registering and making payment?
    There could be several reasons:
  • The email might have been blocked by your mail server or treated as spam.
  • The email might have gone directly to your junk mail. Please check your junk mail in this case.
  • Error in email ID given at the time of registration. You could contact the Registration team at (mall specific email addresses, contact numbers of the representatives) with the following details: Full Name, Run category and Transaction details.
