Forum Purple Run 2019
Mysuru Turns Purple in wake of Alzheimer’s awareness run organized by Forum Mall Mysuru.
Second Edition of Purple Run saw huge turnout in support of Alzheimer’s awareness run:
Forum Centre City mall organized second edition of “Forum Purple Run” in association with Zimson, Swiggy, Bailley Columbia Asia, ID foods Decathlon, fast and Up, Himalaya, Mutli fit, Max. KTM Mysuru Club and NIMHANS on 15th September 2019. This was the biggest Alzheimer’s awareness run in Mysuru. Alzheimer’s is the 5th leading cause of death in people over 55 years old, and in India, more than 4 million people suffer from some form of dementia. More than 90% of are at the risk of being diagnosed with this disease. Despite this, there’s a stigma attached to mental illness amongst us.
“Forum Purple Run” mission was to raise awareness about the Alzheimer’s. FORUM Purple Run offered the running distance 5 km with prizes worth Rs 1.5 lakhs. The 5 Km run was organized in 2 categories i.e. Competitive & Non Competitive. Mr. Laxmana HD, Rama H D, Chethan won first, second & third place in men competitive category & Ms. Archana KM Tippaavva Sannkki ad Jade Anil won first, second & third place in women competitive category.
The Event was graced by Ms. Rini Bopanna, Dr.Rajesh – Psychiatrist – HOD JSS Hospital among other dignitaries. Mr. Dhanasekaran Centre Manager – Forum Centre City mall stated “We are grateful for the support shown by all Mysurians towards this forgotten cause, Huge turnout for this event shows that Mysuru, known to be a heritage city has a heart of gold. I want to take this opportunity to thank each participant towards their support in this noble cause.”
